Frequently Asked Questions

Q : I was washing my car and noticed a bubble on the side of one of my tires, What does something like this usually mean? Is it safe? Thanks, Bob

A : Well Bob, what you're probably experiencing is an impact break in your tire, usually caused by an impact. Potholes, curbs and other hazardous objects are usually the cause of something like this; however, in very rare cases, it is possible to be a manufactures defect. The best thing to do Bob would be to bring it down so we can take it off and determine, by looking at the inside, what the problem is. It is NOT SAFE to drive around on that tire. If it is at all possible, put the spare on and then drive to us or where you need to go. Thank You for your question, Tom

Q : I bought tires a couple weeks ago (225-40-18 Kumhos). Did my tires come with a warranty? Chaz

A : Yes all of our tires come with a full manufactures warranty against workmanship and defects for the life of the tire. Unfortunately Chaz, the road hazard warranty we offer is not available on your tires. You have a low profile tire and we do not offer such warranty on that size. Low profile tires are more prone to impact breaks and damaged sidewalls due to objects in and on the road. Thanks for writing, Tom

Q : My tire went flat and when I had gone to Firestone tire to get it repaired, they said that the tire was no good and that I had to get a new one. They told me that "if I hadn't driven on it flat, then they would have been able to repair it". I always deal with you guys so I figured I'd ask you. Were they trying to rip me off? Thanks a bunch, Tammi

A : Hi Tammi, I am sorry to hear about your tire. Well, I can honestly say that without seeing the tire it would be pretty hard to determine if they were telling the truth, but I am thinking that they probably were. Here's what happens. When you get a flat and you don't immediately pull over, the weight of the vehicle pushes downward on the wheel and it pinches the tire on the sidewall between the lips of the wheel and the ground. As the vehicle moves the wheel goes around and around wearing a groove in the sidewall on the outside of the tire and it also wears much of the rubber away on the inside leaving a mess of rubber shavings on inside of it. In some cases, the tire will not get a groove on the outside (appearing to be okay) but the inside may be a total mess. If a tire would come in like this here, we wouldn't let it go back onto the vehicle. The tire is not safe to repair, not safe to drive on and should be replaced. Thank You for the great question, Tom
